FLIP attempts to generate debates and create spaces for reflection on the importance of the freedom of expression and the right to information between the Colombian authorities, the press, unions, organisations and civil society. When a violation of the freedom of the press occurs, FLIP mobilises public opinion and participates in the public debate in an informed and qualified manner.
FLIP is part of the Antonio Nariño Project; an inter institutional alliance that unites the efforts of Medios para la Paz (The Press for Peace), Andiarios, Fescol and the Fundación para un Nuevo Periodismo Iberoamericano (The Foundation for a New Spanish American Journalism). The purpose of this project is to defend the freedom of information and the right to the freedom of expression.
